Leading with purpose: new Director of Athletics Theresa Hanson on her vision for Athletics at Saint Martin’s University

LACEY, Wash. – The future of athletics at Saint Martin’s University is under the leadership of Theresa Hanson, who was recently appointed the permanent Director of Athletics after serving as Interim Director since October 2024. She brings more than 25 years of proven leadership in sports administration. Hanson’s strengths for enhancing the student-athlete experience, facility development and successful fundraising are integral to the program’s on-going excellence.

Saint Martin’s University names Fr. John B. Klassen, O.S.B., as commencement speaker and honors top graduates

LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin’s University is pleased to name Father John B. Klassen, O.S.B., as the 2024-2025 commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient. Father Klassen will be recognized as a doctor of humane arts, honoris causa, and will address the graduating Class of 2025 on Saturday, May 10. The University also celebrates the academic achievements of its student honorees: co-valedictorians Avril Andales Regis and Alisa Zhupanenko, and salutatorian Jillian Abbe, who have distinguished themselves through their scholarship, service and commitment to the Saint Martin’s community.

Saint Martin’s University offers new cybersecurity bachelor’s degree

Lacey, WASH. – Technology is woven tightly into the fabric of our lives and can be a marvelous tool, but also a potentially dangerous landscape. Saint Martin’s University is preparing students to be on the forefront of cybersecurity by offering a new specialized cybersecurity degree program. Many students and veterans are eager to gain skills for this booming industry where jobs are plentiful. Radana Dvorak, Ph.D., computer science chair and associate professor at the Hal and Inge Marcus School of Engineering at Saint Martin’s University, is leading the way with her enthusiasm and expertise.
