Honor societies

At Saint Martin's, we acknowledge the immense effort our students apply to their areas of study. Honor societies are one way that we recognize students who excel academically or as leaders among their peers, often within a specific academic discipline.

University wide

  • Phi Kappa Phi - Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines.
  • SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society - The country's first national academic honor society for veteran students and active-duty military members attending 2-year and 4-year institutions of higher learning. The society consists of over 400 chapters across 47 states.
  • Society of Fellows - Founded in 1971 by Father Michael Feeney, O.S.B., then university president, this is Saint Martin's own established academic honors society to distinguish faculty and students for their outstanding work in teaching and learning and contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
