Background & research interests

Dr. Clark is originally from Vero Beach, FL and has enjoyed living and working in FL, GA, VA, OR, and WA. She is passionate about the liberal arts, small colleges, first-generation students, and making higher education more accessible and equitable. She joined the Saint Martin’s University faculty in 2018 after completing her Ph.D. at the University of Georgia in 2017. Her passion for teaching and learning is lifelong and is shaped by being a first-generation student herself and understanding the challenges that today’s students face. Her research is centered on professional practice, small college environments, the history of higher education, the role of the university president and assessment.

Personal interests:

Dr. Clark enjoys traveling, cooking and baking, horror and science fiction books and film, and museums of all types. She combs estate sales for vintage finds and has never met a dog she did not like.
