Senior Director, Grant Development and Management

Dr. Erin Hoiland serves as the Senior Director of Grant Development and Management for Saint Martin’s University.  She is responsible for researching, identifying, securing, and managing university-wide public, private, and government grants consistent with the University’s strategic plan, goals, and resource needs.  Erin also plays an instrumental role in helping faculty identify, secure, and manage grant funding for research, curriculum/course development, equipment, and other programmatic and/or tenure needs. As a part of her duties, Erin also conducts grant workshops and informal sessions. 

Dr. Hoiland joined Saint Martin’s in 2015 prior to which she served as the Grants Manager at Tacoma Community College (TCC) for over 16 years. Prior to her position at TCC, Erin held a similar position at The Hope Heart Institute, a cardiovascular research firm in Seattle. She has 25 years of experience of successfully securing and managing significant grant funding. Prior to working in the grants field, Erin worked in the environmental field as the Water Quality Program Manager for the Puyallup Tribe. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Business Administration degrees both from Pacific Lutheran University and her Doctorate degree in education from Seattle University.
