Dan O'Neill

Background

Dan O’Neill is the owner of the Barn Nursery and Great Western Supply (aka Great Western Soil Conditioners). Great Western is part of a larger business, O’Neill and Sons.

Dan received the Thurston County Chamber Distinguished Leader award in 2016 for his innovation and core conservation values and respect for our environment as well as support for education and lifelong learning. In 2004, Great Western Supply was the recipient of a Leadership in Philanthropy Award by the South Sound Partners for Philanthropy.

Dan graduated from Saint Martin’s High School in 1968. He attended University of Portland and graduated in 1972. He served in the US Air force from 1972-1973. Dan obtained his Master in Environmental Science degree from the Evergreen State College in 2012.

Dan serves in many volunteer roles throughout the community; SPSCC Foundation Board of Directors, The Olympia Tumwater Foundation Board, the Strophy Foundation, Thurston County Chamber Membership Drive, and is the co-chair and founding member of the Tumwater Citizens for Better Education in support of the Tumwater School District. He has served on the board of The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound.
