Phi Sigma, the Saint Martin's chapter of Phi Alpha National Honor Society for Social Work was established in April, 2016. At that time, 30 founding members of the BSW program were inducted. The University now has more than 50 members in good standing.

Membership

Eligible social work students are notified of eligibility in the spring semester of  junior year. The national standard for eligibility is an overall GPA of 3.0, with a 3.25 GPA in social work courses.

Projects and program

The purposes of Phi Alpha Honor Society, according to the international office, are "to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals." Their motto is "Through Knowledge - the challenge to serve."
