Saint Martin’s University receives Military Spouse Friendly® School Award

LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin’s University has been designated as Military Spouse Friendly® for 2022-2023 by VIQTORY. This designation recognizes the University for its leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs for military spouses.

“Being a part of Saint Martin’s University is an honor and a privilege, but as a military spouse and a Family Readiness Group (FRG) volunteer, this particular award is a true honor,” shares Associate Dean of Military and Graduate Programs Chantelle Marker.

Institutions earning the Military Spouse Friendly® School designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,200 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey, with 785 schools earning the designation as a Military Friendly School, out of which 346 were selected for the Military Spouse Friendly Schools list.

“The support and commitment to our military community runs through our core values,” said Marker. “The foundation of that community is our military spouses. We strive to serve them and support them while they face multiple moves, changing schools and careers, as well as keep the home running during short and long absences.”

The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with an independent research firm's assistance and an advisory council of educators and employers.
