Saint Martin's Master in Teaching program named among Teacher.org's Best Value Teacher Prep Master's Programs

LACEY, Wash. – Teacher.org has named Saint Martin’s University’s Master in Teaching (MIT) program among its Best Value Teacher Prep Master’s Programs for 2019 – 2020. Saint Martin’s MIT program is one of two programs in Washington state to receive Best Value recognition. For the list, Teacher.org found high-quality, low-cost public and private schools offering graduate-level initial teacher preparation programs that met Teacher.org’s entrance examination and accreditation criteria.

Kate Boyle, Ph.D., provost and vice president of academic affairs, said, “Saint Martin’s University is honored by our most recent accolade for one of our academic programs. We are thrilled with Teacher.org’s recognition of our Master in Teaching program as a ‘Best Value’ and we are pleased to be one of two institutions in the state of Washington to receive this honor.”

In the award citation, Teacher.org stated that Saint Martin’s University “has a big impact on the professionalism and quality of teachers throughout Washington state. Small class sizes and personal attention from quality instructors allow you to make the most of the experience and expertise they bring to the classroom.”

“At Saint Martin’s University, we are very proud of the passion and enthusiasm conveyed by our faculty and staff members for the success of our dedicated students,” said Fumie Hashimoto, Ph.D., interim dean of the College of Education and Counseling and professor of education. “We give personalized attention to each student, and we pass on our passion for teaching and serving the community. Knowing our graduates continue to make positive differences in their students’ lives makes it all worthwhile.”
