Background
During the 1990s, Br. Luke pursued the life of the artist, working a variety of jobs and studying visual art at several institutions including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He graduated from Saint Martin's University in 2001 and entered Saint Martin's Abbey. After taking solemn vows in 2006, he went to study for a Master's in Theological Studies at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. He recently completed his doctoral studies at Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, writing his dissertation on the printmaker Fritz Eichenberg's illustrations for The Catholic Worker.
