Saint Martin’s to sponsors: ‘Thank you for supporting our events with Mario Batali!’

September 30, 2011

Lacey, Washington — On Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, the Saint Martin’s University community will welcome celebrity chef Mario Batali to its Lacey campus for Meet the Chef, 3 p.m., and the Saint Martin’s University Gala, 5:30 p.m. Proceeds from both events support scholarship funds for Saint Martin’s University students. (The Gala is sold out, but tickets are still available for Meet the Chef; for more details, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 360-486-8885 or gala@stmartin.edu). The theme of this year’s Gala, “La Festa di San Martino,” reflects the Italian flavor of the event. “La Festa di San Martino” refers to the feast day of the University’s namesake, Saint Martin of Tours, celebrated November 11. This year’s Gala co-chairs are Dick ‘64 and Karen Roney and Batali’s parents, Armandino ‘59 and Marilyn Batali.
