FAQ

  • What is included with my registration?

Registration includes:  Commemorative long-sleeve Jingle Bell Run race t-shirt, race number and a chip timer. A swag bag guaranteed for the first 500 at early check-in, Friday, December 2, 2016, 3:30 – 7 p.m. Youth t-shirts are available for purchase for $10 on race day, while supplies last. Youth 11 years old and under are free, but will not receive the above items.

  • Can I run with my dog?

Saint Martin's University has a NO DOG policy on campus for the safety of their students and employees.

  • Can I dress up?

Yes! We encourage all Jingle Bell Run participants to get into the spirit by creating a festive outfit for the race. However, we discourage the use of glitter on your costumes. This will allow our staff to quickly prepare for other events in the Marcus Pavilion later that day. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Is there an age limit for younger runners?

No age limits! If they can cover the 5k course, they can absolutely participate with a parent or guardian. Children 11 and under will not receive a race t-shirt unless purchased online or on race day while supplies last. Please remember that as soon as they turn 12 they will need to register and have a race bib!

  • Is there a time for packet-pick up for the event?

Packet pick-up (race t-shirt, bib, timing chip) will begin early on Friday, December 2nd, 3:30 – 7 p.m.  Race check-in and packet pick up also available on race day, starting at 8 a.m. Swag bags are not guaranteed for day of race check-in. Please arrive in time to pick up race bib and timing chip on race day so you have time to get to the start line.

  • What happens if I miss my race start time?

If you are registered for the 9:00 a.m. competitive 5k run and you miss the start time, you may switch to the 9:45 a.m. fun run/walk; however, your time will not show up UNLESS you officially change your registration prior to the race. The Jingle Bell Run staff located at the check-in station can help you change your registration AND your race bib number.

  • Can I switch start times on the day of the race?

If you decide you want to run/walk in a different race than what you originally registered for, you must officially change your registration and your race bib number. To do so, please visit the Jingle Bell Run staff at the check-in station on the day of the race.

  • Can I just run/walk one lap (1.55 miles)?

Runners in the 9 a.m. 5k race must complete the full two lap course. This helps to ensure the accuracy of the timing results. Participants in the 9:45 fun run/walk may choose to only run one lap however.

  • Where is Saint Martin's University and where is the race held on campus?

Saint Martin's University is in Lacey, Washington which is minutes from downtown Olympia and less than an hour from Seattle, 30 minutes from Tacoma and two hours from Portland, Oregon. For driving directions use address 5300 Pacific Avenue SE, Lacey, Washington, 98503 which will bring you the start and finish line of the race, the Marcus Pavilion.

  • Where should I park?

Runners and spectators are asked to park in the Pavilion lots listed as N,O and Q on the campus parking map. The Pavilion lots are best accessed from Pacific Avenue. Handicap parking spaces are available in the NE Pavilion lot or N on the campus parking map.

  • What is the course like?

The Saint Martin's Jingle Bell Run is 100 percent on the roads and trails of our beautiful, wooded campus. The course, designed by our very own cross country coach, is a two loop race, with each loop measuring 1.55 miles. Participants in the 9:45 fun run/walk may choose to only run one lap, whereas runners wanting to run farther may complete the entire 5k.

  • Can spectators attend the Finish Line Celebration?

Absolutely and we hope they will! The Finish Line Celebration will take place within the warm Marcus Pavilion. Recharge after the race with Christmas cookies and hot cider or cocoa. There will even be an appearance from SANTA!

  • Are there refunds?

Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds. Just make sure you are good to go before signing up. If for some reason you can’t make it to race day, you can check-in and pick up your t-shirt and race bag. Registrations are also transferrable.
