Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Susan grew up in San Diego, moved to the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. After many years at home raising her four children, Susan returned to school to complete her bachelor’s degree in religious studies at Saint Martin’s University. While finishing her degree, she accepted a job as associate campus minister in the Office of Campus Ministry. In 1997, Susan became director of Campus Ministry. In 2003, Susan received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, also from Saint Martin’s. A new position became available in 2012 for director of service immersion programs and Susan moved to the Office of Service and Diversity Initiatives. Susan enjoys spending time with her husband Dan, her children and four grandchildren — also traveling, walking and movies. Susan’s passions include Catholic social teachings, social justice issues and advocacy and interfaith work. She appreciates working with all our students and community partners — locally, regionally and internationally — to bring a meaningful and transformative learning experience to service and social justice.
