“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:1 (NIV)

Jeremiah 29:11 has guided me throughout my life and many of my life decisions are based on this verse. I grew up in Memphis, TN, where I lived during the fabulous 50’s , turbulent 60’s, and attended Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) in the 70’s and 80’s where I earned my B.S. in elementary education and a master’s in curriculum and instruction., married, and had two children. We moved to the PNW in 1991 where I went to work for the Tacoma Public Schools as a math and technology specialist, started work at Saint Martin’s as an adjunct faculty member around 1994, and have continued to work off and on until present day. I continued to work in public education and earned my Ph.D in Educational Leadership from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN, in 2013. I retired from public education in 2018. Since retiring, I have worked as STAR and Field Director for the College of Education and Counseling.

My husband and I married in 1974 and raised two wonderful children and are the proud grandparents of two boys, Isaac and Gabe.
