I have taught at Saint Martin’s University since Spring 1994. Prior to that I taught at the Human Relations Institute (now Pacifica Graduate Institute) in Santa Barbara, California. I also taught at Santa Barbara City College in Santa Barbara, Ca. It has been my honor to teach future therapists.
I have a private practice serving children, adults and couples. I am known for serving people with severe trauma, grief and abuse issues. I am considered an expert in Child and Adolescent Therapy. I feel that my ability to teach with current examples of practice is very helpful to students. They receive the academic theories as well as an idea of what actually presents in this work.
I have worked on various committees at SMU. I also coordinate the MAC Alumni/Current Student events in which learning and networking take place.
I have a special interest in Historical Trauma and organized a conference in 2013 in Olympia. We had 100 participants who had conversations they had never had before. It was an amazing experience.
I love my work at SMU and am proud of the quality of therapists we send out to our communities.
