Inge Marcus ‘82 has served Saint Martin’s as a faculty member, is a member of the Legacy Society, and has served on the President’s Council and the Board of Trustees Science Initiative Committee. She received an Honorary Degree from Saint Martin’s in 2017.
Inge and Hal Marcus came to Olympia in 1980. Inge, a native of Denmark, got involved with Saint Martin’s as a student, finishing her biology degree in 1982. Her dedication to Saint Martin’s began with teaching at Saint Martin’s from 1984–2005, retiring in 2003 as an Assistant Professor of Biology. She has taught at Pacific Lutheran University and worked as a Laboratory Technician at UCLA, at the Brain Research Institute and at Rockwell International. Inge has co- authored five scientific publications.
Inge’s service to Saint Martin’s also shows in her numerous contributions to the University; The Saint Martin's University Gala; Hal and Inge Marcus Pavilion and The Hal & Inge Marcus School of Engineering (Cebula Hall).
