Saint Martin's University has been recognized by Military Advanced Education & Transition as one of the top schools for military personnel and their families. Saint Martin's takes pride in supporting our military learners, as evidenced by our strong relationship with JBLM and wide-array of military/veteran clubs and organizations on-campus.

Staff Sgt Michael A. Vidick, a member of the U.S. Air Force for more than 11 years, has been chosen by Saint Martin's as its 10th recipient of the America's Service Heroes Scholarship.

Originally from Pueblo, Colorado, Vidick joined the Air Force after high school and at 18 began his journey at the Air Force's Basic Training Gateway, Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. From two combat tours in Iraq to a role as an agent with the Air Force's Office of Special Investigations (OSI), Vidick has shown an ability to complete every task and mission given. He holds five Air Force Commendation Medals and, most notably, one Army Commendation and one Army Achievement Medal earned during two combat tours in Iraq while embedded with Army Military Police units. He also has a second Army Achievement award for community service. These awards are rare achievements for Air Force members.

Vidick completed an associate of applied science degree in police science in 2007 from the Community College of the Air Force. He is enrolled at Saint Martin's as a criminal justice major and holds a 3.72 cumulative GPA.
