Cheryl Meyer graduated from the University of Washington in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and completed her Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, August 2012. She joined the faculty of Saint Martin’s University, as an adjunct professor, in the fall of 2012.

Cheryl currently works for NR Smith and Associates, PS, a CPA and financial planning firm located in west Olympia, as the Firm Administrator. Prior to joining the firm, Cheryl worked for the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, overseeing payroll and accounts payable. She was with the Washington Contract Loggers Association/WCLA Insurance Agency Inc. in Olympia Washington for 18 years, starting as an accounting assistant and rising to the position of Chief Financial Officer while attaining her Certifications in Public Accounting and Management Accounting.

From 1988 through 2006 Cheryl was with the Washington Contract Loggers Association/WCLA Insurance Agency Inc. in Olympia, Washington.  She started at WCLA as an accounting assistant and rose to the position of Chief Financial Officer, while attaining her Bachelor's Degree, and Certifications in Public Accounting and Management Accounting. At WCLA Cheryl was an integral part of the management team that created American Forest Casualty Company Risk Retention Group, managed a successful Retrospective Rating Program, and increased the Insurance program's sales reach to five states.

In addition, Cheryl proudly served six years in the United States Air Force with many more as wife and mother to USAF airmen.

Accomplishments

At WCLA Cheryl was an integral part of the management team that created American Forest Casualty Company Risk Retention Group, managed a successful Retrospective Rating Program, and increased the Insurance program's sales reach to five states.
