Welcome to the Saints family!
Thank you for entrusting your student’s undergraduate and learning experience to Saint Martin’s University. As a family member of a Saint Martin’s student, you are considered a part of this community. With so many great things happening at the University, we want our families to have a connection to campus.
Your student will only spend approximately 10 percent of their academic career inside the classroom, while 90 percent is spent outside. The majority of your student’s time, outside of studying of course, will be spent involved with activities and programs such as Residence Life programming, campus ministry, service-learning and academic-specific clubs, all of which provide leadership opportunities and preparation for life after college.
Saints Family Program
To further establish this relationship with our families, we have created the Saints Family Program and SFP Fund. With the enrollment of your student, you are already part of the University family and considered a member of the SFP. The program is a means for the University to stay in touch with our families and share news and events. This is accomplished through communications such as monthly e-newsletters, the "Calling All Saints" Phon-a-thon program, Insights Magazine and social media. Monthly e-newsletters are sent out during the first week of each month. Please make sure we have your most up-to-date information to ensure you are receiving the communications by completing the Family Contact form.
Saints Family Program Fund
The SFP Fund provides annual financial support for registered student clubs and organizations and offices within the Student Affairs department that directly impact the student experience. Family members who make a financial gift of $50 or more will be voting members of the SFP. Voting members become the advisory group that will select student activities, programs and/or projects for SFP Fund awards based on a submitted proposal.
For example, funding proposals may include:
- New sporting equipment for intramural sports
- Registration fees for the Society of Women Engineers club to attend a conference
- The cost to host an ettiquette dinner for students hosted by the Office of Career Services
- The cost for food and/or decorations for the annual Hui `O Hawai`i Club Luau
The staff and faculty at Saint Martin's are dedicated to providing a safe learning environment for students and guests. Below are some of the campus resources that will work closely with your student during their time on campus. You may find additional contact information in the University directory.
