Supported and nurtured by faculty and staff who are dedicated to our Benedictine philosophy, students at Saint Martin’s develop the values-based convictions that translate into concern for others and the issues that transcend self-interest. As a result, our graduates are lifelong learners imbued with the awareness of diverse perspectives and the interconnectedness of all life. They actively engage in not only their own lives, but in the lives of their communities and the pursuit of a healed, holistic world.

Creating employability
At Saint Martin's we seek to prepare you to enter the workforce as a skilled professional. Applying yourself academically is one way to develop those skills. Complement your academics by completing an internship or applying for student employment (work study, if you qualify).

Internships
Saint Martin's is next door to the Washington State Capitol and a wide range of internship opportunities. Internships allow you to crystallize and synthesize the knowledge you gain in the classroom through real-world experience. In addition, a successful internship may turn into a job offer. Saint Martin's has two devoted Internship Navigators ready to help you with your internship needs!

Work study and student employment
As both a student and employee, you are a valuable member of our campus community. We rely heavily on student employees to help provide fast and efficient service to the student body. Use our job search tool Handshake to see what positions are available. Whether you are work study or student labor, we welcome you as a member of our team!
Career mentoring

Student preparation
Making the transition from college student to working professional begins the first day you step on campus. To help get you from job applicant to job offer, we provide tools and services that equip you for success — career fairs, resume services, our career preparation program Saints Promise and much, much more. And our services don't end when you graduate. We are a resource for all Saints — current student or alumni.

Saints Promise
Saints Promise is our four-year career preparation program that comes with a guarantee. If you follow and complete all steps and do not secure employment or graduate school within six months of Commencement, Saint Martin’s will guarantee a three-month, paid internship, or one free semester or term in one of our graduate programs*.
