Peer tutoring is available at no cost to Saint Martin's students in many subjects including accounting, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, physics, math and world languages. All tutors are recommended by faculty in their field of study. Peer tutors provide both individual and small group tutoring sessions.

Tutoring schedules

The center offers free drop-in tutoring services for the following subject areas:

  • How to get tutoring help

Peer tutoring is available M-F on a drop-in basis for certain courses in science, technology, engineering and math.  Please refer to the schedules for evening hours in physics and math.

“By request” tutoring sessions are available in world language, business and accounting courses.  An updated tutoring schedule is always posted by the Center front desk in the lower level, O’Grady Library.

  • How to get the most out of your tutoring session

We ask that you attend all classes, keep current with course readings, attempt assignments ahead of time and bring all materials to sessions. Do not expect the tutor to do your homework for you. Tutors are here to help you improve your content knowledge and study strategies.

  • Becoming a tutor

Tutor positions become available each semester. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please complete a tutor application packet in the Learning Center.
