Fifth Annual Dragon Boat Festival
Lacey, Washington — Saint Martin’s
University hosted the fifth annual Dragon Boat Festival on
Sunday, April 25. This year the festival took place at Port
Plaza in downtown Olympia. The festival, presented by Saint
Martin’s in cooperation with the Washington Dragon Boat
Association, featured 24 teams and is drew spectators from
throughout the Pacific Northwest. The event, which ran from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m., was free and open to the public.
This year’s Dragon Boat lineup featured
paddling talent from several colleges, universities, government
agencies, and community organizations. Also participating in the
event were many local and regional teams.

First: Absolute Sake, 58.92 seconds
Second: Paddles of Fury, 1:00.09
Third: Wasabi Kraken, 1:04.63
Fourth: SunDragons, 1:06.30

Second: City of Olympia, 1:04.30
Third: Tacoma Community College Matadors, 1:11.62
Fourth: Team Tumwater, 1:16.90
