Inauguration 2009 photos

Below are photos from the events of the Inauguration of President Roy F. Heynderickx, on September 18, 2009, including the Celebratory Mass, the luncheon, the Installation Ceremony, and the reception.

The Celebratory Mass was presided by Bishop Eusebio Elizondo from the Archdiocese of Seattle, who was there to receive President Heynderickx’s profession of faith in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the constitution on Catholic higher education drafted by the late Pope John Paul II. The luncheon included such speakers as John Darby, Deputy Mayor of the city of Lacey; President Gerald Pumphrey of South Puget Sound Community College; and President Les Purce of The Evergreen State College. The Installation Ceremony was highlighted by performances by the Saint Martin’s University Chorale and the American Legion Band. During the ceremony, Father Hilary Thimmesh, president emeritus of Saint John’s University, was the inaugural speaker. Other speakers included Saint Martin's Alumni Association president Brent Quebedeaux ’06, and ASSMU president Ahmadou Seck.
