Saint Martin’s announces new media relations manager

LACEY, WASHINGTON — Saint Martin’s University has welcomed
Meg Nugent Dwyer as its new media relations manager.
A veteran journalist and communications professional, Dwyer
spent more than 20 years as a news and features reporter for The
Star-Ledger, New Jersey’s largest daily newspaper. She covered a
wide variety of beats, the most recent of which was topics,
issues and trends related to health.
Dwyer comes to Saint Martin’s from St. John’s, Newfoundland,
Canada, where she served as coordinator of organizational
development for Choices for Youth, a non-profit organization
serving at-risk and homeless young people in St. John’s. She
was part of the team responsible for the overall operation of
the communications, marketing, and fund development functions
of the organization.
Dwyer’s experience also includes serving as a communications
coordinator for the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development at
Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she developed and wrote
funding proposals. She also served as a consultant-writer for
various publications and organizations, including Kean Magazine,
the alumni magazine for Kean University, Union, New Jersey, and
as the primary health care writer for Sergeant Marketing, Montville,
New Jersey.

passion for writing to help spread the word about the dynamic campus
community that is thriving and growing here, as the university continues
to fulfill its commitment to the Catholic, Benedictine tradition.”
As media relations manager, Dwyer is a member of Saint Martin’s
Office of Marketing and Communications. She will work with members
of the media and members of the campus community to share news regarding
the University’s accomplishments, programs and special events, and will
serve as the lead writer for Insights, Saint Martin’s alumni magazine.
Dwyer holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
