Assistance for those affected by flooding
December 31, 2007
Saint Martin’s University is committed to assisting
students and families affected by the regional flooding that occurred in
December 2007.
Current Saint Martin’s students
If you or your family have been affected by the
floods and you feel this will impact your academic work spring semester
or your ability to pay tuition, make this known to your advisor,
Student Accounts Office and the
Financial Aid Office as soon as
possible. Each situation will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
The deadline to file the FAFSA and apply for
financial aid for the next academic year is March 1. If you are unable
to meet this deadline, please notify the Financial Aid Office. Staff
from the Financial Aid Office may be able to facilitate a deadline
extension and can brief you on the procedure for reporting exceptional
circumstances, such as flood-related expenses or loss of income, on the
FAFSA.
Applicants to Saint Martin’s University
The University will waive the $35.00 application fee
for any student affected by the floods. To make arrangements for a
waiver, contact an SMU admissions counselor at 800-368-8803 or
admissions@stmartin.edu.
Saint Martin’s Priority Deadline for the application
for admission and FAFSA for fall 2008 is March 1. If this deadline
presents a challenge, an extension can be granted; contact an admissions
counselor to make arrangements.
