Career and Internship Fair 2006 will provide numerous possibilities for
job seekers
March 20, 2006
Lacey – Career and Internship Fair 2006, an annual
undertaking by Saint Martin's University and The Evergreen State College
for students and job-seekers in the community, will be from 11 a.m. to 4
p.m. April 4 at Saint Martin’s Pavilion, 5300 Pacific Ave. S.E. This
year’s fair features more than 100 employees representing private
industry, state and local government and non-profit organizations. Some
will be interviewing for full-time, part-time and summer positions and
will be hiring. Several graduate schools also will be represented at the
fair, which is free to employers and job-seekers alike.
Ann Adams, director of Saint Martin’s Career Center,
says the fair is a great experience even for people not immediately
seeking employment. It provides an excellent opportunity to gather
information directly from organizations, represent one’s self to
potential employers, practice job-interviewing skills and update
resumes.
Attendees should come dressed in appropriate
business attire and bring copies of their resumes.
This year’s fair will include drawings throughout
the day for donated prizes or time in the “Cash Cube,” a game donated by
Party Outfitters.
Major fair sponsors are Saint Martin's University
Associated Students, Saint Martin's Alumni Association, The Evergreen
State College and Lumbermens. Other sponsors are Party Outfitters
Interactive Games, the Washington Society of CPAs, Skillings-Connolly
Inc., Russell Investment Group, the Tacoma School District, Valley
Athletic Club, BioRev LLC, the Washington State Department of Social and
Health Services, Farmers Insurance, Beneficial Financial Group, Capital
Medical Center and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
