State Democratic Party chair candidates to discuss their positions at Saint Martin's

Lacey, Wash. – Come Jan. 29, the Washington Democratic
State Party will elect a new chairman or chairwoman at its
reorganization meeting in Olympia. The person elected will preside over
the organization’s Central Committee, which sets the tone for the party
for the state, assists county and district party organizations and leads
recruitment and assistance of Democratic candidates for state and
federal office.
The Saint Martin's College Democratic Donkey Club will
host candidates for the office at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the college’s
Student Union Building, 5300 Pacific Ave. The club invites the public to
come, hear the campaign platforms of those running for the office
currently held by incumbent Paul Berendt. The presentation will give
people attending time to ask questions and learn more about the
Democratic platform in the state. The event is free.
Speaking at the event will be candidates:
- Bill Phillips, current chair of the 21st Legislative District and
longtime Democratic activist.
- Kat Overman, former chair of the Snohomish County Democrats and a
consultant campaign management.
- Greg Rodriguez, longtime political activist and King County Democratic
Party Chair.
