Saint Martin's student employee of the year helps residence hall students
Wednesday, May 26, 2004
Lacey, Wash. - Saint Martin’s College has
named freshman Cathy Schlader as its Student Employee of the Year for
2004.
The college chooses one student
work-study employee each year for the honor, based on contributions to
their department, work ethic, attitude, reliability and extraordinary
effort.
Schlader, of Boise, Idaho, is one of more
than 200 student workers that are crucial to the college’s department in
getting their jobs done in the best possible way. Each student worker
also helps the offices and departments keep in touch with the reason the
college exists - students and their education.
Residence Hall Manager Angelia Johnson
nominated Schlader for constantly going out of her way to be helpful to
the college’s residential students. When additional student workers were
hired to help in the office, she was instrumental in training new
members of the team.
“Cathy does all the little things to make
this office run smoothly,” Johnson said. “She comes in with a smile and
makes even the most mundane tasks fun … Cathy is a true leader.”
