Saint Martin's College spring concert will be April 28

Lacey, Wash. - Songs and hymns from many countries
will highlight the annual Saint Martin’s College music department spring
concert Wednesday, April 28. The concert will be at 7 p.m. at the
college’s Worthington Conference Center, 5300 Pacific Ave. Admission is
by donation.
Vocal and instrumental selections will be
performed by the Saint Martin’s Concert Band, conducted by Mark
Montemayo, and by the Saint Martin’s Chorale, Men’s Ensemble and Women’s
Ensemble, all conducted by Darrell Born, chair of the college’s music
department.
Born said musical selections will span from
Israeli and African folk songs to African-American gospel and hymns of
Irish, German, English and American origin. Pop numbers, including a
Cole Porter tune and The Fleetwoods’ “Come Softly to Me” will be part of
the program, as well.
A concert highlight will be performances by music
department solo competition finalists Sunny Gold, a senior from Shelton,
and Matthew Lambrecht, a senior from La Center.
