Lacey - The new year at Saint Martin’s
College will start with thrills, a burst of excitement and a touch of
wonder Jan 17, when Chemistry Wizard Tim Hoyt presents “An Evening With
the Wizard.”
Known for his awe-inspiring and colorful
demonstrations of chemical phenomena, Hoyt, who teaches chemistry at the
University of Puget Sound, has entertained and educated audiences
throughout Puget Sound with his shows.
The Jan. 17 show will be at 6:30 p.m. at
Saint Martin’s Pavilion, 5300 Pacific Ave. Admission is free. A special
invitation goes out to children and students.
The Saint Martin’s College Chemistry
Department and Chemistry Club, the Puget Sound Section of the American
Chemical Society and The Evergreen State College Chemistry Club are
sponsoring the event. The two chemistry clubs will be raffling a
chemistry set and having a bake sale at the event to raise money for
their clubs’ activities.
