Oak Ridge Community Facility Supervisor: Stacey Dilg Environment: Transition programs for juvenile offenders and juveniles coming out of Western State Hospital; operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Focus is on Mental Health issues and vocational education. Duties: To interact with staff and residents; carry a small caseload; participate in group counseling activities; and update case management files. Note: This is dated information, but they have had Saint Martin’s students as interns in the recent past. Regional Correctional Facility Supervisor: Capt. David Sensiba Responsibilities: Work within the military corrections facilities in the Mental Health Branch. You will learn assessment skills, in take, group work especially around anger management and chemical dependency. Environment: Within correctional facilities, on the Fort Lewis grounds. Development Program Supervisor:
Lin Spellman (volunteer services) Environment: Juvenile court program; operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. It is also a detention center for youth at risk, child abuse victims, and juvenile offenders. Duties: There are 35 jobs available. Interns will work in a group setting with incarcerated juveniles who are receiving treatment for substance abuse. Assist staff with intake and assessment of youth. Interact with juvenile offenders on a one to one basis; learn about the facility in terms of safety precautions; maintain case management files; and supervise youth activities. Will work with interns on a limited basis because they get interns from other colleges as well as St. Martin’s University. Note: Connected to the following site. Duties: Assist staff with filling out intake booking reports and monitor youth’s performance while awaiting court hearings and sentencing.
