Duties and responsibilities:
- Targeting homeless/those with eviction notice in hand
- Some interviewing and listening
- Referrals to resources and help with follow through
- Maybe go with community support
- Work for three months
Some training in MH issues helpful. Volunteers
record training. Need vehicle that is insured. Need people who are
flexible, comfortable with diverse and poor environment.
Note: Interns can work with any major. There is a
wide diversity of areas they can work. Ms. Herrera will contact the
different sections in order to see who needs help and place the interns
in something they are interested in. There isn’t much use for interns
during fall 2006.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Family therapist in providing services to families at risk of
having their children removed for abuse or neglect.
Family Crisis intervention 30 days to 6 months follow on referral
service.

Harbor, Lewis, and Cowlitz counties.

Job Summary: The intern will work with different
shelter programs, which involve working with families (including
children) and the homeless.
Intern Service Description:
- Attend Housing Authority Committee meetings for
case conferencing
- Attend other community meetings as necessary
- Perform client in-takes with homeless families and individuals to
include housing history and current relevant conferencing
- Referrals to other social services agencies such as those dealing with
parenting, medical, daycare, chemical dependency, mental health and
other issues
- Housing information and referral will entail providing apartment
listings and rental assistance information.
Note: They are more than happy to have one or two interns.
