For your information
About your academic costume
Graduates will receive one
gown, cap and tassel. Graduates not planning to attend the baccalaureate
ceremony may pick up hoods with their cap and gown.
Proper care
Cap - The shorter point of the crown faces the front and the mortarboard
is parallel to the ground. Mortarboards may be secured with hairpins.
Tassel - The tassel is worn on the right side of the mortarboard and is
not shifted.
Gown - It should be removed from the package and placed on a hanger to
let the packing folds fall out. If pressing is needed, a moderately warm
iron can be used with caution on the reverse side of the material.
Hood - Put the hood on over your head with the velvet side up and with
the small, tapered end in front. Secure to the zipper/eye hook in front.
