Q. Who is able to use the rec center?
A. To be eligible to access the rec center one must be a current
student (at least six credits), staff or faculty member or in
the monastic community or accompanying a current member. Must
have current SMU ID card.
Q. Who is eligible for wellness classes? Where can I
find a schedule?
A. All current SMU ID card holders may attend the wellness
classes for free, all classes are first come first serve.
Schedules are listed under the wellness class tab.
Q. Can I bring a guest?
A. All current card holders may bring in a guest if willing to
sign for responsibility of a guest and there is a $3 day pass
fee.
Q. Can SMU alumni use the facility?
A. Yes, all SMU alumni have the opportunity to purchase a year
pass through the Hal and Inge Marcus Pavilion for a one-time fee
of $150 for the year. Before accessing facility, you must take
the proof of purchase to the SMU security office (Old Main 251)
to receive their SMU alumni ID card.
Q. Can I reserve a space in the rec center?
A. Yes, the studio, classroom and courts number two and number
three are available for reservation with 24 hours in advance
notice. You can call or email Dan Parine to make all next

Q. Who is able to bring their kids to the little
dragons kids' karate class?
A. All current SMU ID card holders may bring their children ages
5-12 to the little dragons class. The guardian must sign a
liability wavier for the children and must stay in the facility
for the duration of the class.
Q. I have never worked out. Is there anyone in the
facility to help me?
A. Yes, all Charneski Recreation Center staff are
trained and there are two certified trainers available.
Q. What is the cost for using the rec center?
A. The Charneski Recreation Center is free to all current faculty,
staff, student, and monastic community member.
