Retired U.S. Marine and Virgil Adams real estate agent Phil
Weigand serves on the board of directors for Heritage Financial
Corporation and is a member of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
He served the Olympia community for many years as a member of the
West Olympia Rotary Club; board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs
of Thurston County and the Drug Court Foundation Board; and
president of the Olympia Country and Golf Club. In retirement, he
divides his time between the Olympia area and Hawaii.
As a Marine, Weigand served in Vietnam where he received the
Silver Star medal for heroism, the nation's third highest award for
gallantry in action. He retired in 1980 as a Lieutenant Colonel with
20 years of service.
Weigand received a Bachelor of Arts at Stanford University and a
Master of Science in public relations at Boston University.
