Program mission statement
The Community Services Program seeks to prepare liberal arts students to
assume responsible roles within social work and community helping agencies
within our society.
Program goals, objectives and outcomes
Knowledge
- Increase student knowledge of the social work approach to solving
human problems.
Skills/Dispositions
- Help students gain intellectual skills, moral insight and
humanistic concepts.
- Encourage students to develop ethical and analytic thinking
essential for professional life in social work, psychology, foreign
service, and a variety of other human service professions.
- Prepare students desiring professional work as a human service
practitioner.
