We need host families!

Being a host family is a great experience for your family as well as for international students.

Please contact David Martin, host family coordinator at jdavid.martin@stmartin.edu to find out more information or click here to learn more about becoming a host family.

Summer programs

Each year the Office of International Programs and Development hosts several short-term summer programs for student groups who wish to experience American culture, and share their own culture with new friends.

photoWhether at Saint Martin's University for two weeks or three months, the visiting students are exposed to American life through educational workshops and classes, visits to local businesses, and tours of local sites such as Seattle and Mount Rainier. Students also have ample opportunities to meet Americans by staying with a host family for one weekend and participating in activities with local youths who take part in the programs as "cultural ambassadors."

These were our past cultural exchange groups in 2012:

7/9-7/29 Shanghai Maritime University
7/15-8/11 National Tainan Institute of Nursing
7/15-8/11 Chung Shan University
7/15-8/11 Konkuk University
7/11-8/5 National Tainan Institute of Nursing
7/17-7/30 Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
8/7-8/15 Okazaki Women's Junior College
8/7-8/21 Mukogawa Women's College
