Nursing
Nurses play vital roles in the nation's rapidly changing,
increasingly complex health care system. They are responsible for
providing preventive health services, caring for a diverse and aging
population, helping those who have chronic conditions, and serving
as health care leaders. Graduates of Saint Martin's RN-to-BSN
program will be prepared to succeed in this dynamic environment.
Saint Martin's RN-to-BSN program combines
academic rigor and professionally
stimulating instruction with the university's core values of
faith, reason, service and community. Rooted in the long
tradition of the liberal arts, its curriculum cultivates
creativity and the ability to communicate and pursue ideas;
critical thinking and independent inquiry; academic proficiency;
the formation of sound ethical judgments; and service to
humanity. Superior teaching is the expected norm. The University
honors all of its students and guides them toward achieving
academic excellence. Its nursing program empowers students in
their ongoing journey as lifelong learners, ensures that they
have the competencies needed to practice in a wide range of
roles, and helps prepare them to be leaders in the nursing
profession.
As the only RN-to-BSN program between Tacoma and Vancouver,
Saint Martin's is ideally located to serve the communities
of southwest Washington. Its students enjoy small classes taught
by experienced accessible, student-centered faculty; courses
that combine on-site classes with online learning; flexibility
in class schedules; and
financial aid
support.
