Equipment for checkout

The multimedia and computer equipment listed below is available for check-out, except as noted, to Saint Martin's University students, faculty, staff, and members of the monastic community for academic or college-related projects.  Patrons are responsible for all fines incurred and for lost or damaged items (see Multimedia policies).  Unless otherwise indicated, items are located at the circulation desk.

To make a reservation to use the library's equipment, call 360-486-8802 or circulation@stmartin.edu.  Additional equipment is available for faculty and staff from the Computer Resource Center (438-4365).

• Card readers. USB CompactFlash reader or USB Dazzle Universal 6 in 1 Reader for reading from and writing to Compact Flash, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, and Memory Stick cards. Card readers checked out from Circulation should work with any PC running Windows XP.

• Cassette recorders (2). Hand-held, voice-activated recorder with built-in microphone.  Uses full-size cassettes.

• CD/cassette players (3). Boom boxes.
  Availability:  Aiwa CSD-ED20, Panasonic RX-D16
   
• Digital cameras (7). One Kodak 2 megapixel optical zoom camera, one Canon PowerShot A510 3.2 megapixel optical zoom camera, two Canon PowerShot A560 7.1 megapixel optical zoom cameras, and three Canon PowerShot A610 5.0 megapixel optical zoom cameras are available. Kodak stores pictures on 64 MB CompactFlash cards, Canon A510 on a 256 MB SmartCard,  Canon A610s on 512 MB SmartCards, and Canon A560s on 1 GB SmartCards.

• Digital camcorders (4).  Cameras with viewfinder, LCD screen, and optical zoom uses Mini-DV digital video cassettes (not supplied by library).  Has composite, S-Video, microphone, and FireWire output terminals.
  Availability:  Canon ZR40, Canon ZR80, Canon ZR500, and CanonZR800.
  Restrictions: training required
   
• Digital camcorder high-capacity battery.  Extra battery for the Canon ZR80.
  Availability:  Canon BP-522 battery pack
   
• Digital voice recorders (4): Olympus WS-100 with 64 MB storage or WS-300-M with 256MB memory.  Both models connect to PC via USB, save to Windows Media Audio (.wma) format. Lapel microphone included in case.

• Headphones--mono. For use with 13" TVs.

• Headsets--digital (2).

• Laptop computers (9).  Laptops have Microsoft Windows and Office installed and include CD-ROM and floppy drives, Ethernet adapter and cable, and carrying case.  Laptops should be used with included AC adapter, as battery life is limited.

• Laserdisc Player.  Also plays CDs
  Availability:  Pioneer CD CDV LD Player
   
• Microphone for camcorder.  Audio-Technica Twin Mic, wireless Lavalier and handheld microphone for use with camcorders (digital and VHS).
  Availability:  Audio-technica wireless microphone
   
• Microphone for classroom.  Lavalier microphone and wireless transmitter for use with receiver in main-level Technology Classroom.
  Availability: Nady Systems VHF wireless transmitter

• Projection screen.  Tripod screen.

• Remote mouse (2). Remote, wireless mouse for use with the Technology Classroom and Seminar Room instructor stations.

• Slide scanner (3).  Adapter for scanning slides or negatives at scanner stations.

• Slide projector. Projector, case, and 80 slide tray.

• 35 mm point-and-shoot camera.  With zoom lens and built-in flash.

• Video camera.  Camcorder uses VHS-C videocassettes.

• Video camera tripod.

• Zip drives (2).  USB  zip drive.  Power adapters are installed on one Multimedia Center scanner station (Lab 298) and one Information Commons graphics station (Lab 229) only.
