Curriculum resources
|
Developed to support education students, the Curriculum Resources
center houses an extensive collection of children’s and young adult
fiction and non-fiction books, classroom sets and other teaching-related
materials. It also provides space for group work and lesson planning.

Group study rooms
|
On this level are three of the library's eight group study rooms, which are available
by reservation for student, faculty and staff use. Contact the circulation
staff to reserve a room.

Microforms
|
Up to 20,000 volume equivalents of older issues of periodicals may be
accessed in either microfiche or microfilm formats by using the two
reader-printers. Dimmable lighting alleviates eyestrain.
|
|
SMU periodicals |
The area contains housing for up to 800 journal titles,
32 newspapers, and 8 computer workstations for accessing electronic
journals and databases. In the catalog, periodicals are
indicated by the location "SMU Periodicals." All student study carrels and study
tables provide access to power and, soon, to the campus network. |

Seminar room
|
A technology intensive classroom that contains 18 student and one
instructor workstations. See

Special collections
|
Contains rare books, unique collections and a portion of the College’s
archives, and other materials that require special protection. The
area has its own HVAC and humidity control systems in order to maintain the
constant environment required for preserving materials.
