Curriculum resources Developed to support education students, the Curriculum Resources center houses an extensive collection of children’s and young adult fiction and non-fiction books, classroom sets and other teaching-related materials.  It also provides space for group work and lesson planning.
Group study rooms On this level are three of the library's eight group study rooms, which are available by reservation for student, faculty and staff use.  Contact the circulation staff to reserve a room.
Microforms Up to 20,000 volume equivalents of older issues of periodicals may be accessed in either microfiche or microfilm formats by using the two reader-printers.  Dimmable lighting alleviates eyestrain.
SMU periodicals The area contains housing for up to 800 journal titles, 32 newspapers, and 8 computer workstations for accessing electronic journals and databases.  In the catalog, periodicals are indicated by the location "SMU Periodicals."  All student study carrels and study tables provide access to power and, soon, to the campus network.
Seminar room A technology intensive classroom that contains 18 student and one instructor workstations.  See Technology classrooms for details.
Special collections Contains rare books, unique collections and a portion of the College’s archives, and other materials that require special protection.  The area has its own HVAC and humidity control systems in order to maintain the constant environment required for preserving materials.
