O'Grady Library floor plan -- main level
The main level of the
library houses the Information Commons, the Circulation Desk, the Multimedia
Center, a 24 seat computer classroom, and the ITS Help Desk. There are
also three group study rooms available for checkout. Wireless is available
throughout the floor, and there are network jacks in selected locations of
the Information Commons.
- Circulation desk: Check out books,
videos, study rooms, and reserve readings here. You can also
put extra money on your printing account or buy copy cards.
- Group study rooms: Three group studies
rooms are available for student, faculty, and staff use.
Contact the Circulation Desk to reserve a room.
- Information commons: Find the
resources, and technologies you need to complete your
research projects. In addition to
being home to the Reference Desk, the Information Commons
has 32 student computers and houses the library's print
reference collection--dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks
and the like.
- ITS help desk: The Help Desk
creates email/network accounts and troubleshoots computer
problems, even repairing student-owned computers.
- Library administration: In
addition to the director's office, there is a conference
room available for use by faculty and staff.
- Multimedia center: This area is
designed to facilitate both the use and creation of
multimedia resources. In addition to holding the library's
CD, DVD, and VHS collections, there are two
viewing/listening rooms, a video-editing room, and four
scanner stations with specialized graphics software.
- Reference desk: Need assistance finding
scholarly articles for a research paper? Stop by the
reference desk and ask to see a librarian. The reference
staff also provides basic help using Word, Excel, or
PowerPoint, scanning documents, using selected multimedia
applications, and troubleshooting computer problems.
- Technology classroom: This is a
networked, 24-seat computer classroom scheduled for
semester-long classes.
