Instructional Design

As an Instructional Designer, I am here to promote teaching and learning excellence at Saint Martin’s University through:

• Offering expertise by staying abreast of the latest academic research on uses of technology in online and traditional classrooms in higher education
• Fostering a culture of innovation through leadership and collaboration with SMU faculty in applying emerging technologies to teaching and learning goals
• Presenting information through workshops and online, to the Saint Martin's community about relevant research and examples of best practices in teaching
• Providing consultation to individual instructors based on their unique needs
• Assessment of technology uses and effectiveness in achieving teaching goals
• Promoting a dynamic learning environment for SMU instructors and students

We are currently setting up Moodle as our course management system. This is an easy to use and easy to learn platform that allows instructors to create dynamic and interactive course websites quickly and without needing much technical knowledge.
