The English Program serves students by leading them
to discover the practical importance of our cultural inheritance; honing
analytical, critical, and communication skills, and advancing the
University's overarching mission of knowledge, service and sound value
judgment. The major requires students to take 35 semester hours of English (12 courses), nine of which - three classes - are General Education Requirements. Students are encouraged to augment their English classes with outside studies. Please refer to the academic catalog for major requirements.
