Minerva Scholarship Fund & American Association of University Women - Gig Harbor Branch

Members of the Gig Harbor Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) created the Minerva Scholarship Fund in 1991.  This tax-deductible endowment helps meet the financial needs of women living in the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula communities who yearn for the higher education they do not have and now see as a direct route to fulfilling careers and financial stability.  Minerva recognizes that all too often the demands of jobs and family crush that dream.

Since 1993 Minerva Scholarship Fund has distributed more than $61,000 among 54 women.  This year Minerva and AAUW will award a total of $10,900 to women who dream of higher education.
