De Sam Lazaro, who is chairman of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers; robotics and automation group, has expertise in manufacturing, robotics and automation, with an emphasis on expert systems and Fuzzy Logic. He is a prolific writer in his field.

Abdelmessih has extensive industrial, research, and teaching experience.  She has performed research at NASA (DFRC and MSFC),  Argonne National Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.  Her research interests are mainly in the area of heat transfer, e.g., mixed convection, conduction, heat exchangers, heat transfer in manufacturing and electronics; unit operations; paper industry; and fiber reinforced plastics.  She has numerous publications.  Abdelmessih is the advisor of the Society of Women Engineers at Saint Martin's University.
