Join us for this
groundbreaking conference with keynote speakers:
Governor Gary Locke and
Joseph Borich, Executive Director of the
Washington State China Relations Council
Why is your attendance important to your business' future?
China is a country in
dramatic economic transition. It has the second largest economy in the
world after the United States in terms of purchasing power and an
economic growth rate that has quadrupled since 1978. By 2010, the
Chinese economy is projected to become the world's largest.
Washington is poised to
experience incredible positive and negative impacts because of its
geographic proximity to China. In 2002, China was Washington's second
largest export market and Washington was the second leading U.S.
exporter to China, exporting some $3.5 billion in products. A recent
study by the state's Department of Community, Trade and Economic
Development ranks China as the number one future export market for
Washington state companies.
The timing is right to take
stock of these developments and learn how you can make the most of the
opportunities they represent. No Washington business or manufacturer,
large or small, can afford to ignore China, whether as a source of
components, products or services, as a market or for research and
development.
Nor should you disregard the
challenges these trends may have on your business' future. Even if China
is the last thing on your mind coming out of the recession, you should
not overlook this opportunity to quickly become acquainted on how China
may impact your business.
Take advantage of a
provocative, focused program that will provide you with a chance to:
- Learn the basics of doing
business with China in a short time from Chinese and American experts.
- Meet and network with
others who share your interests and goals.
- Make valuable connections
with those agencies and organizations best able to assist you.
- Hear directly from South
Puget Sound-area business peers who are successfully bridging the
Pacific with business ventures of many types.
- Attend a conference close
to your home.

printed matter about China, its business climate, sources of help and
more.
Four break-out sessions
will be held to further focus on your particular interests.
