The
church doors open into an atrium where, on a clear day, visitors are
afforded a spectacular view of Mount Rainier. As in Catholic churches
everywhere, a holy water font stands in the center. The font, made of
welded copper by George Tsutakawa, is a combination fountain and holy
water stoop symbolizing the well of living water, life, and
purification. It reminds the Christian of the cleansing waters of
baptism.
