The Department of English at Saint Martin's University is a
dynamic environment for the development, expression and exchange of
ideas. The department's exceptional leadership mentors students to
discover the practical importance of interpreting and finding
meaning through the medium of language.
With enthusiasm and energy, our professors drive the English
department's success in helping students hone analytical,
critical, and communicational skills. Class seminars and
discussions provide students with the opportunity to engage in
dialectical conversations with other students and faculty.
Through these inspired learning environments students cultivate
the ability to form their own opinions based on research and
interpretation of primary texts. They deepen their knowledge by
learning to make connections between small details and large
The Department of English excels at providing students with
friendly advisors who welcome one-on-one conversations about

study abroad trips, to develop long-lasting
relationships that will enrich the personal and professional
life of the student.
