Br. Boniface is a Solemnly Professed member of the Benedictine community of Saint Martin's Abbey who teaches Spanish at Saint Martin's University, and is a regular contributor to Insights, the official magazine of Saint Martin's University. The author of El teatro de Alfonso Sastre [unpublished thesis; 1973], Br. Boniface has lived in Mexico and in Spain and has traveled in Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and Israel.

Since 1990, he has been director of Abbey Church Events, an annual concert/lecture series sponsored by Saint Martin's Abbey and also is curator of the Abbey's Martin of Tours Collection of Pacific Northwest Art. A two-term past-president of the Board of Directors of the Olympia Symphony Orchestra, he is a member of the Western Arts Alliance and of Chamber Music America.

Br. Boniface is an amateur ikebanist.
