TUB Receptionist
The Office of Campus Life is seeking to fill work
study positions for the 2008-2009 school year. Working with students,
faculty, staff and the community, the Trautman Union Building (TUB)
Receptionists play a key role in making the TUB a welcoming environment.
Compensation for this position is minimum wage at
$7.93/hour.
Responsibilities
Students are responsible for a wide range of duties within the office
including, but not limited to the following:
- Work an average of 10 hours per week
- Answer telephone and direct callers to the appropriate campus
resources
- Provide exceptional customer service to TUB guests; check out
TUB equipment ensuring compliance with all department policies and
procedures.
- Assist in office management (organize files, make labels, create
shopping lists for supplies, decorate for events, and other general
office duties).
- Assist in management, set-up and reservation of TUB for events
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Freshman or Sophomore enrolled at Saint Martin's University
- Eligible for work study
- Enthusiasm, strong interpersonal, communication, and
organizational skills
- Working knowledge of computer functions including MS Office
applications, and the internet
- Willingness to take reasonable risks and to learn from others
- Must be willing to live by, as well as, support the philosophy
and policies of Saint Martin’s University and to accept the
responsibilities of the TUB Receptionist position.
Preferred qualifications include experience in
public speaking, writing, event planning, and a demonstrable commitment
to promoting and enhancing diversity.
