Dawn
M. Houle is an enrolled tribal member of the Chippewa-Cree
Tribe located in Rocky Boy, Montana. She graduated from the
University of Montana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry
and remains a dedicated Grizzly football fan. With over 10 years of
natural resource management experience, Dawn gained the majority of
her knowledge while serving the past six years as the Forest Manager
for the Quinault Indian Nation in Washington State. Dawn has
expanded this experience by sitting on the Intertribal Timber
Council board as a tribal delegate and committee member for the past
10 years. Dawn currently resigned her post as Forest Manager to
pursue a Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Martin’s
University. In addition, she works part-time for the Quinault Nation as
a planning forester. Interests include: traveling, reading, hiking,
attending pow-wow’s, collecting Indian art, quilting and meeting new
people.
Dawn is an active member of the following
organizations: American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES)
since 1989, board member of the National Center for Continuing
Education (NCCE) based out of Haskell Indian University, active
volunteer for the Potlatch Fund Foundation: non profit organization
- whose goal is to expand philanthropy among the northwest tribes,
charter member for the Museum of American Indians, active
participant and fundraiser for the local American Cancer Society, a
novice quilt maker for the Native American Cancer Society: donating
quilted lap blankets to cancer patients recovering from
chemotherapy. Interviewed and featured on the cover of the natural
resource magazine “Evergreen” in June 1998.

| Pam Clement is
currently a senior pursuing a degree in accounting. She is a full-charge bookkeeper/accountant at a contracting
company in Hoquiam, Washington.
Pam spends several hours a week commuting from Hoquiam
to attend classes, and many more hours studying in the comfort of her
easy chair at home.
Pam’s intention is to complete the 150-hour program that will
qualify her to sit for the CPA exam in November of 2005. Come hell
or high water, she will graduate with a Master’s degree in May of
2005 from Saint Martin's University. |

Laura
Sharp grew up in a Midwestern town where she received a Catholic
education. Laura is married with three children now 14, 11,
and 5 years old. She began her academic career as a freshman
at Saint Martin's University in the summer of 1999, 20 years after
graduating from high school. Initially, she majored in
Community Services, then changed to Psychology. It was when
she
registered for Accounting 201 with Prof. David Rasmussen last spring
that her life and career path changed significantly. Laura now resides in
Olympia and has established herself in Business Administration with
a focus in Accounting.
Laura
is looking forward to a lasting and successful career in private
practice, corporate accounting, or government service.

Cornelia Kirkpatrick
is married with two grown boys. She is studying Business
Administration with the concentration in Management Information
Systems. Her career background is in governmental and business
accounting. What she likes best about returning to school is
the effect is has had to expand her perspectives and goals.
Cornelia would like to work in the fields of business operations
management. She will graduate in May 2004. |

Leonard
Taylor Jr. is a junior in the business program at Saint Martin's
University. He is the owner of a small services company in
Lakewood, Washington (landscaping, lawn maintenance and janitorial).
Leonard spends several hours a week commuting from
Lakewood to attend classes, and spends more time studying at home on
light class days.
Leonard's intention is to complete the program and
receive his BA and possibly go on to receive his graduate degree in
business. Come what may, he will prayerfully graduate with a
BA degree in May 2005.
Leonard's hope is to gain experience
and a feel for business operations world wide through the
International Business Tour. He believes this will broaden his
horizons, outlook, and edge in the ever changing business world, and
also create a lasting impression and gratitude for not only
America's business operations but hose world wide.

Emily Douglas
started at Saint Martin’s University last
year to work on her Masters in Business Administration. She
earned her Bachelors in Business Administration – Accounting from
the University of Texas at San Antonio and accepted a job in
Washington shortly after graduation because she thought it would be
a great opportunity to broaden her horizons. Becoming involved
with the International Business students has given Emily that
opportunity, and is very excited about the tour to China and the
chance to experience a different culture and learn about business
practices in another country. |

Kennesy Cavanah
was born and raised
in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Montesano, Washington 14 years ago
with her husband and children. She is currently a junior at
Saint Martin’s University working toward a degree in accounting.
Having grown up in an environment with a strong Asian influence, Kennesy is looking forward to seeing the sites and experiencing the
culture first hand, as well as having the opportunity to gain
knowledge of business on an international level.

Cassie Miller
was born on December
10th, 1979 in Fort Cambell, Kentucky. She has lived in
Oklahoma, Germany, and Korea, but Olympia, Washington is where she calls home.
She has been involved with various organizations all of
her life. She is a member of the University Place Presbyterian Church,
volunteers for Red Cross at Madigan Hospital, and has
occasionally in the past volunteered at the Humane Society.
Cassie is a
senior at Saint Martin's University. Her major is Business
Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing.
Her
minor is Political Science. She has many hobbies that include
skiing, snowboarding, golfing, tennis, piano, guitar, violin, and
painting. She enjoys many things, but the most important is to make
sure everyone is happy!

David Balencia
started the MBA program at Saint Martin’s
University in the fall of 2003. He earned his BA in Business
Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University
of Washington in Tacoma. He has worked in the Tacoma area for the
past 8 years within the healthcare industry. Some of the
organizations he has worked for include DaVita Inc., Franciscan
Health System, and currently MultiCare Health System as a financial
analyst. David is excited to be a part of the International Business
Tour Group to China and looks forward to learning all he can about
Chinese business practices and culture.

Toni
Christy
will graduate in May with a degree in Business Administration and
minors in International Relations and Economics.
For the past
two years Toni has worked at Pierce College in the District College
Relations Department.
Toni has previously
been involved in study abroad programs in Germany and Austria and is
looking forward to the International Business Tour as an opportunity
to expand opportunities in the business world. |

Cathy Krauss
was born and raised
in Southern Oregon, where she fell in love with the outdoors.
Since moving to Olympia last year, she and her husband have both
enjoyed exploring Washington together and are excited to be living
in the Pacific Northwest. In her spare time, Cathy loves to
work on home improvements and spend time with her dogs.
This is Cathy’s
first year at Saint Martin’s University, where she is enrolled as a
junior. She is currently taking classes toward a degree in
Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and looks
forward to new adventures.

Ingrid
Celada
was born in Guatemala, and has lived in the U.S.A. since 2000.
Ingrid likes to cook, watercolor, dance and watch movies.
She
loves diversity and tolerance. She likes working in teams and has
strong feelings for family and community.
Her goal is to
work in public projects to help the kids that are in need,
worldwide. Her target is UNICEF.
Ingrid hopes to
learn more about the world by visiting different countries, and is
looking forward to a good time. |
